foundation
Establish the shared business context (voice, philosophy, audience, constraints) that every other workbench draws from.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”foundation captures the “soul” of your business through a guided conversation, then saves it as shared context that the rest of your workshop reads. It is the groundwork the other workbenches stand on: when they write, decide, or design, they do it in your voice, for your audience, within your constraints.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”- It is the first thing to set up in a new workshop.
- Revisit it when your positioning, voice, or audience has shifted and the rest of your work needs to follow.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”| Element | What it captures |
|---|---|
| Voice | How you communicate |
| Philosophy | What you believe |
| Soul | Why you exist |
| Audience | Who you serve |
| Constraints | The boundaries you operate within |
How to use it
Section titled “How to use it”Start the setup and have the conversation; it takes about 30 to 60 minutes, and you can pause and resume at any section break. When it is complete, the workshop reports the foundation as ready, and every other workbench can draw on it.
